So we are well underway here in Ireland and many are looking forward to the upcoming Circuit of Ireland. A unprecedented entry of R5/S2000 cars from European, British and Tarmac Championships plus the Modified, WRC, Historic and Junior entries seem to show that our sport is bouncing back and is in rude health. I hope so.
Regretably the shadow of another accident that would injure or kill spectators, or those associated with the event, means the future is quite perilous. Its a pity that the RAC MSA and MSI have taken different roads to address problems and personally I will again not be attending any RACMSA events in a Media capacity. But i appeal to anyone going to the Circuit, or future events, in any capacity to be aware that a stupid choice of vantage point could cost rallying it future. Obey the marshalls, even if their people skills may appear missing. Look around you, and if you see something stupid address it.
Best of luck to all and lets all work toward a safe future for motorings most exciting sport.
